Grub2Win gives you the possibility of safely booting Windows and Linux on the same machine. It supports both 32 and 64-bit EFI and BIOS firmwares and it lets you set up a wide range of operating systems, including Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora and even Android. Booting ISO files is another possibility. Furthermore, the software places a good number of customization options at your disposal, so you can tailor your boot menu to your own needs.

Installing the utility is not a difficult task, thanks to a simple user interface, where you will find all the necessary options for setting it up. There are no special tools or services that need to be installed and it shouldn't take more than a minute to complete the installation process. However, you should make sure your that Secure Boot is disabled in your EFI or BIOS.

One of Grub2Win's advantages is the fact that it doesn't over-complicate things once it is installed. Its core components are contained within a single directory on the system drive, which doesn't use a significant amount of disk space. If you have an EFI system, the software will install four small modules on your EFI partition.

The main user interface provides a wide range of options, including some important ones, for managing EFI partition modules and for setting a boot order for the available EFI firmwares. You can set Grub2Win as the default one or move it down the list. When you run the software for the firs time, you will have to restart your computer to allow the utility to perform a test boot.

Once you have everything in place, you can start making other fine tweaks, to personalize your boot menu. For example, you can choose a different background image and place various elements, like a clock, Grub2Win version and others. It is also possible to set a default resolution and language, a timeout period and more important, you can install additional drivers, if you want support for ATA controllers, RAID, USB and others.

With Grub2Win, you can boot Windows and Linux on the same machine in a safe and convenient manner.

Pros

The software supports EFI and BIOS firmwares. It can boot various operating systems, including Ubuntu, Debian and Fedora. It places a good number of customization options at your disposal and it is easy to use.

Cons

The user interface could use a more modern design.
